Elsa Ayala Nava was born in Jalisco, Mexico, and was admitted to the Missouri Bar in 2025. She earned her Master of Laws (LL.M.) in U.S. Law from the University of Houston Law Center in 2024 and holds her Bachelor of Laws degree from Tecnológico de Monterrey. During law school, she served as a Research Assistant at the Center for U.S. and Mexican Law at the UHLC, where she contributed to comparative legal research.

Before joining Mai N. Moua Law Office as an attorney, Ms. Ayala Nava gained valuable experience working as a legal assistant with the firm, where she assisted in a wide variety of immigration matters, including family-based petitions, humanitarian relief, removal defense, and naturalization cases, while supporting immigration casework and client services. She previously served as an Immigration Law Clerk at Monty & Ramirez LLP, where she worked directly on immigration matters, and as a Protection Consular Official at the Mexican Consulate in Saint Paul, Minnesota, where she performed duties in accordance with consulate and embassy protocols and provided legal guidance to Mexican nationals on immigration and criminal law issues.

She is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), Minnesota/Dakotas Chapter, and the Minnesota Hispanic Bar Association. She is licensed to practice law in Missouri and Mexico and is fluent in Spanish and English.

Elsa Ayala Nava nació en Jalisco, México, y fue admitida al Colegio de Abogados del estado de Missouri en 2025. Obtuvo su Maestría en Derecho (LL.M.) en Derecho Estadounidense por la University of Houston Law Center en 2024 y cuenta con el título de Licenciada en Derecho por el Tecnológico de Monterrey. Durante sus estudios de posgrado, se desempeñó como Asistente de Investigación en el Center for U.S. and Mexican Law de la University of Houston Law Center, donde contribuyó a investigaciones jurídicas comparativas.

Antes de incorporarse a Mai N. Moua Law Office como abogada, Elsa adquirió valiosa experiencia trabajando como asistente legal en la firma, donde participó en una amplia variedad de asuntos migratorios, incluyendo peticiones familiares, alivios humanitarios, defensa en procesos de deportación y casos de naturalización, además de apoyar en la gestión de casos y atención a clientes. Anteriormente, se desempeñó como pasante en derecho migratorio en Monty & Ramirez LLP, donde trabajó directamente en asuntos de inmigración, así como como Oficial de Protección Consular en el Consulado de México en Saint Paul, Minnesota, donde realizó funciones conforme a los protocolos consulares y de la embajada, brindando orientación legal a ciudadanos mexicanos en materia migratoria y penal.

Es miembro de la American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), Capítulo Minnesota/Dakotas, y de la Minnesota Hispanic Bar Association. Está autorizada para ejercer el derecho en Missouri y en México. Elsa habla español e inglés.
